"Quick, take your picture, they won't be orange for long..."

This is my first submission to DPChallenge. I have been lurking for quite some time and thoroughly enjoy all of the excellent photos and commentary.

I completely adhered to the basic editing rules by slightly cropping, adjusting levels and sharpening the image. If I could do more, I would remove the algae from his/her face.

Thank you for your comments.

Great stuff - a beautiful set of oranges! Wonderful capture, focus and detail. Love it. [9]

a little bit over exposed in the feathers and would have loved it with a touch more detail in the upper right in particular but still really strong.

Lots of detail and clarity on the bottom half of the duck, but the top seems a bit bright. Still an excellent photo.

I like the orange bill and feet of this chubby domestic duck.(?) He is standing
foursquare and looks as if he can hold his own.

I don't know what it is about ducks that make them look overly sharpened... I think it may be the waxy feathers. I have tried shooting mallards and they never quite look right. Good shot here. The background ain't the most attractive, but it works!

Very nice and good.

What a fat duck! I like the in your face, head on, centered presentation. It really emphasizes the fatness of the duck. Orange color may not dominate the picture, but it certainly is a player. A ten for me.

nice plump whiteness
the clean white duck against the mud makes for a good contrast

Good solid shot. The light, color and focus. Well done.

I love this picture - I guess the white duck isn't going to stay very white in all that mud!!!! Captured beautifully - even down to the water droplets on the tummy!

That is a FAT duck.

Lovely. Would be just a bit more perfect with the life-light in the eye.

Very nice, well taken picture. I like the way you've met the challenge of orange being the primary color in the shot - the ducks beak and feet are orange and it is the only color besides white and grey!

Very cute. Excellent job with the exposure on the ever-so-difficult all-white duck. Fits the challenge well. 7

I love orange beak pictures, too. But I don't think we're going to get very high marks for our efforts!!

nice photo, wish orange were more prominent
