Thank you for your comments. Its quite dark in the meat market...next I'll set to a higher ISO and see what happens. The light coming off pf him might be because of my lens which is cracked and refracts light sometimes... I don't have another... : (

Oh this makes me laugh... my father is a butcher :) Wonderful processing, great expression, the pose just seals the deal. Of course I love it. But my dad does look quite a bit different, and I might add, amazingly enough, more scary! (it's true! lol!)

This looks like a man who has worked hard and won't get paid enough for what he has done. 8.

It's the Salvador Dali of the meat rack. Nice.

Very interesting and well balanced. There's a lot going on, but it doesn't seem cluttered. You've created a nice centralized flow for the viewer. I'm also a sucker for muted colors like these, and there's great contrast balance.

As commentary, that butcher scares the crap out of me, heh.

Very interesting picture - I like the lighting here - the brightly lit meat on the left and the darkeness to the right really works for me and esp. the way your subject is illuminated....lover to know you got this exposure and effect...

grimy, greasy and utterly authentic, he looks like he's itching to get back to work, 9

What a find! I wish you had a bit more light in the shadows of his face, but his is a great entry, the limited color palate helps the feel.

Great shot. There are some odd light refractions, but other than that, nice shot.

Another well done portrait. Surprisingly, there's only a few thus far. I like everything about this portrait.

nice and gritty, great capture. Some knits to pick: looks a little pixelated or something on my screen, wish the face was sharper. and the guy with the sunglasses behind the butcher's shoulder is distracting me. Still, 8, nice shot

seems like a great subject. Not a huge fan of the treatment but otherwise good.
