Nice shot gordon. Actually a very good composition. I guess you must like the lens :-)

the border hurts the composition for me...

Nice shot. The border doesn't do much for me, but the clash of nature and man is very interesting. I like the blue vs the orange as well since the orange object is still the primary focus of this shot.

Orange??? Tan, maybe. Nonetheless a good photo.

I love the soft, muted feel of this image. Unusual place for a fire plug, and the subtle contrasting colors work very well together. This would be a beautiful greeting card or something similar. 8

Great subject! Well photographed. Actually, I love this shot. There's something whimsical and light-hearted about this.
I don't think it needs the line/frame thing though.

Love the image, but I am not so sure I would class the hydrant as 'orange'. 5/10 (7/10 if the hydrant was more orange)

While it's certainly not a shade of orange that I like, it is a great photo considering composition, exposure, everything. I especially like the hint of orange towards top from the Indian Blankets.

This is a wonderful picture. If you have access to this area, you may want to consider composing the photograph so that the hydrant is less prominant, maybe in one of the top corners. For the challenge, the foreground focus on the hydrant is understandable, but for prosperity, I think distancing it may show better.
