Challenge: Blurry Mess (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5- 5.6G ED DX
Location: my bathroom!
Date: Mar 11, 2008
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 1600
Shutter: 1/15
Date Uploaded: Mar 11, 2008

Came up with the idea of a blurred drunken mess picture at the beginning of the week, and then shot this using my wife as a model.
I used ISO 1600 because I felt grain would help the image. Still used a slow shutter to crank the camera a bit while I shot. Now that its done, I've reread the challenge, and I hope that voters consider it blurry enough!

I'd prefer it to be a little less grainy, but it suits the challenge in more than one way! Very clever!!

Wow...throwing up while you're drinking. Don't people usually wait until they're done ;)

The grain together with the blur really make this shot work.

I love the tilt, grain, blur and title; everything is just right! Truly the quintessential of a blurry mess.

Good luck!

Great use of the Blurred Mess license!!! And one of the best in this challenge IMO. You could caption this "Blurry Mess" and it works. Very nice!

My criteria for scoring these is with an objective, open mind to a criteria/theme with many subjective terms. I can see you took a more literal approach, and see no broach of challenge criteria as per the wording used. Since it has the appearance of disorganized and chaotic, and messy subject matter, who am I to say this isn't a fine entry?

I know that the challenge theme is implied to to encourage a less compositional approach, but I would say it allows for more creative license due to it's completely subjective wording. I really like this capture.

I didn't want to see simple abstracts in this challenge - I wanted to see different and original ideas as to what could express "blurry mess" on the whole, and you accomplished that here.

lol. The toilet becomes your best friend in situations like this. Cold, still and happy to be pucked on.
I'm sure you are getting "not enough blur" comments. I think you captured the mood well and this couldn't have been done with the normal requirements for a "clean" image.

Gross me out the window yet I do appreciate the duality, the tones and the grain. Utimately quite clever but your score may be in the toilet.

The blur and pixelation work really well in this shot to bring the emotion of the moment to your audience.

Ahhhhh, a little "Praying to the Porcelain God"! Good photo, but maybe not quite a blurry mess. Almost looks like a painting.
