Pretty much a candid shot. I was taking pictures of her, but I said she could go check out the rest of the area and off she went holding her hat in one hand and the flowers in the other. I really like the motion blur here.

Thanks Jason and Calvus.

Some of you thought I took some color out. I did NOT take any color out. This is what Wyoming looks like this time of year. :-) We don't get spring till the end of April.

Thanks all for the comments. I know you spent alot of time on that. Keep them coming.

Dress looks like hue-shifted red- giving you the benefit of the doubt. Great composition. I can't wait for Spring either. ;-(

A touch of orange in a black and white landscape. Very touching.

very pleasing picture, i like the composition of the subject and the contrasting background...
IMO, it wasnt really necessary to get motion blurr on the girl's hand and the flowers. The sense of motion is already conveyed by the foot and body position. I would have rather seen the detail on the flowers.
also, i think a little more saturation in the orange channel would enhance the contrast and might bring out the little girl a bit more

Well thought out image..I think the slow shutter speed has added to the overall effect perfectly.
Good work

The desaturated colours and the slight motion blur of the child's arm make this image. Including the entire curve of the pathway may even add to the impact it has.

This is a wonderful composition and a good take on the challenge. The motion of the girl is put to good use here. One area I think this can be improved is in the background--the slightly saturated, pale grass and background for some reason calls attention to itself to me, perhaps simply because it doesn't provide enough contrast with the orange dress and the girls stockings and hat. It may not have been possible during the challenge, but I think this is just the perfect shot to selectively desaturate the background to grayscale. I bet you wanted to do this for the challenge, but were stopped by the similarity in color between the girl and the background. Overall, this is a very nice photo--and I bet it will sell well if you can enhance the contrast of the elements later.

Great image... The only thing that I can say is maybe she should be a little more in focus... Otherwise I like this a lot...

Excellent image. I love the way you captured the motion on her foot, dress, flowers and even on her hair. I really hope this will do good but good or not, the image will be in my list of favorite because I just love it. 10 from me.

Wonderful image, perhaps the time of day has made the light a little harsh.

The contrasting vibrance between the subject and the background really compliments this photograph well. The two things I'd change are the motion of the left foot and hand as well as the cropping. I think that including the entire pathway on the right would have served better.

Beautiful. I love this photo. I'm torn as to whether or not I like the motion blur on her arm and leg. Just beautiful.

Delicate and well composed. Harmonic colour-tones. De-saturated nature, as it is in spring, and the orange-dressed girl; - Love it!

I like the motion in this shot. I also like the composition...the girl on the left side of the photo, walking up the path. The muted colors of the winter season offset the colors on the girl nicely.

Beautiful motion. Wish the destination (person in the distance?) was more evident, or absent altogether.

Great juxtaposition of the girl colors vs. the grayish setting.

ON my monitor the dress is red, the flowers yellow, the rest is drab, almost desaturated. Can't decide if i like the motion blur or not...and the composition seems to be lacking something on the right - perhaps if the little girl were farther along hte path. Not sure, but something seems to be missing

Great one. Would be great in motion blur too. I think the motion of the girl really adds a lot to this shot. Love the color work you did too. good luck in the challenge. 10
