 This is Klaus, my wife's pride and joy long haired dappled blue eyed dachshund who so graciously posed for an extended photo shoot.
Halogen lamp below and right mainly to close the pupils and show off his blue eye which was more grey with the strobes, but is closer to this blue in the daylight.
Umbrella strobes to left and right.
Adjust colors in Camera Raw and imported to Photoshop.
Cloned crease out of wool blanket background.

create layer with just his blue eye and increase level of blue.

Post: Thanks for all the nice comments. This just barely hung in there as my PB until the last day, and then it took a dive. Dappled dachshunds sometimes have one or two blue eyes. I did try brushing him, but he doesn't retain a brushing very well. Maybe I could have fixed it PP if I had better skills.

Fantastic pet portrait. Really love this one a lot. Browsed your portfolio and i am impressed by some of the excellent work in there. All the more amazing considering you are only 2 years old. :)

nice portrait. couple of things would improve it IMO: moving the eyes a bit higher in the frame, and using a different background. I think it would look much better if it was dark and smooth as a contrast to his fur.

8 - Klaus is a handsome fellow, with lovely hair. Obviously unique eyes. Looks like you took his collar off for this - that's nice. This is a nice portrait, but I do wonder about him all buffed up (brushed) - but that's likely just 'another image'. Up to 8 from 7.

Aw, he's odd-eyed. Nice job overall; his oranges look a little too saturated on my monitor but that's a relative nit.
