Thank you to those who commented. I came up with the idea and tried it right before the challenge deadline. Technically, this is a poor photograph, I think the model needs to either be in focus or more out of focus, and I never did get a drip of wax falling off the candle. The model was supposed to be looking down below the candle in expectation of what was about to happen off screen. I decided at the last second to submit it to see what people thought about it fitting the challenge. Interestingly, I got almost equal comments both ways.

interesting take on the challenge...her look says its going to be hot but she likes it..the crop is good...this would be great in b/w with the candle being red...i'd like to see more from this series

I don't see that this shows that anything "off-screen" is being expected. Doesn't do anything for me.

the expectiation is ON screen in this pic. Should be OFF screen/frame.

She looks like she is really enjoying that. Meets the challenge as the drops are off screen. Interesting idea.

I'm not sure that it's off screen expectation, but then actually.... perhaps it is! Made me say ouch!!

Oh la la... This one has potential, but I would have liked to see better lighting and composition. Great idea.
