my faith weighs of feathers
my heart beats on a wishbone
my life is a syllable repeated

this bird looks to me like a monk fully committed to his monastic life, fully immersed, to the point of forgetting that it is a sacrifice, that he is a sacrifice.

With CS3 (a trial copy ugh) I used the nifty black and white feature, fudged with the dials until I got the look I wanted, tinted it to sepia (still in the same feature!). Then it's just slight crop, resize, USM.

My favorite part was seeing the other bird in the background. It's like we are seeing a scene where the one in the foreground has been hurt and is walking away from the other. And the one in the background just watches and wonders. I'm sure it's just me, but these are the kinds of things I look for in animal pictures.

Great title... something about the textures, tones, and sepia color gives this a very interesting atmosphere... I like it.

Simple and direct, and the toning is great. Title is perfect.

This, quite simply, to me is devastatingly good. It's two older women in a small town, wrapped in their everyday shawls, peering out into the street from the doorway of their very simple home.

The turkey in the background is a bit distracting. Other than that it's a nice shot.
