taken on a quick outing with nshapiro. Was a cold, windy afternoon, and by the end, our hands were frozen! we had hoped for more clouds, but not much luck. these were all we got!
PP - followed Bear_music's processing help in his recent Rivers entry. Tonemapped a single raw file in photomatix pro, then opened in CS3. rotate and crop. adjusted levels, some shadow/highlights adjustment, then duped layer and applied image in soft light mode. another softlight layer to lighten some areas on the rocks. selective color layer for some color adjustment. USM at large radius. cloned out a small bright pebble on the FG rock, a small buoy in the distance, and a small rope near walkway, and cloned out a few dust spots. noise ninja. USM at small radius. resize, USM on dupe layer to hit the lighthouse, and a little bit of the fg rocks. added border. save for web.

Nature isn't doing badly with the light, is it? I like the depth of field and the detail throughout the image. The glow from the lighthouse itself tones in so well with the glow on the horizon.
There is another photo of this lighthouse in the challenge as well....did you go shooting together? I've never seen pictures of this lighthouse before, I think it is so cool. I love the surroundings and the colour as well. One of my top picks.
