Thanks for all the comments everyone. I realize the moon is overexposed. I wish I had had a tripod with me and a few more minutes to monkey with my settings! Next time :)

this is a great concept. I would like to see more attempts at this. I don't know hard it is to do this but one problem is the moon is overexposed. It'd be nice to see some moon detail.

the definition in the moon was lost, but otherwise, very well executed. i love the colours and the transition from one to the other. i very much like the composition, as well.

apart from that, i like this photo. i get the 'framing' part, although maybe i wouldn't put my subject in the middle, but that's just a matter of taste. great shot :)
