this is a gorilla at the zoo yesterday .. he was eating a capsicum/green pepper .. i found it pretty upsetting seeing these amazing animals in such a confined space .. i dont know if they are actually suffering, but sometimes they look so sad .. they have very human faces .. very expressive ..

Beautiful photo. It just kills me to see these majestic animals in captivity.

Man he looks scary!! I think it's just the way his mouth is hanging full of food. I agree about the small areas they put these critters in, sometime's you really wonder if it's a better place for them or not.

Great capture, great colours, great sharpness and great processing. The border's pretty great, too. The only slight suggestion, if I may be so bold, would be to crop it completely square by cropping in from the left.

I was thinking he had some bad caps from the dentist till you pointed out the peppers. Like always, nice processing.

Amazing detail in that green pepper!

Good luck with the new lens. It's just a matter of time... 8)

Ahhhh Roz, this is marvelous. They do have very expressive faces. However, you've captured him (the humane way in the photo) beautifully. And your POV is PERFECT. Beautiful.

These are amazing animals and I hate seeing them in small confined spaces as well. You can see the expression of sadness. We have an oranuatan that has a large space but he is alone. These are social animals and everytime I see him, he just sits there doing nothing. Very sad indeed.

Nice capture of this guy. Love the green pepper in his mouth. I always feel sorry for them too. In fact, we have one local zoo that I won't go to because they keep them in such small spaces.

The first thing that came to mind, don't talk with your mouth full! The colours are nice and you captured his size really well!

He does seem to be motioning at us to go away. I love that you can tell it's a green pepper in his mouth ... b-i-g mouth.

ohh! this is menacing! what a great capture Roz, and the PP here is something! He looks great! first thing I thought of is King Kong when he is lashing out at his tormenters...tha tblurred movement of his right front arm makes it seem like he is not too thrilled to have his snacktime interrupted by the paparazzi!
