 Thanks to fellow member venom (he's a really nice guy) for hanging out in the rain with me. That's him with the brolly. Yes it was windy and raining. I actually wanted the streaks of rain to show up against the black coat but after all of the processing they disappeard.

I've never spent more time on one photo(actually 4 photos!). Lots of steps...maybe I'll just post a screen shot showing my masking and layers. I did use some tonemapping to help bring out the colors in the umbrellas and the texture of the wet ground.

I like it, maybe the voters will too. I wanted an umbrella that would turn inside out in the wind but all I could find was this 11.00 special which proved to be pretty sturdy.

Nice shot in many respects: colours, composition, etc. I like how there is more than one subject in motion (the man walking and the action of putting up the umbrella)

hmmm... i think i've seen that rainbow umbrella before in other challenge :-)
very good pov,
shutter speed was not fast enough to freeze action in captures 3 and 4..there is some motion blur there, specially in number 3...but it may have been on purpose.
processing looks good

GeneralE: this is unnatural. a step is missing.

muckpond: he's going out for food. it's totally natural!

GeneralE: how do you know that?

muckpond: I can tell by his expression.

scalvert: it's clearly a staged shot. the next thing he's going to do is turn around and pick up his camera. Not natural.

sher: it's natural. It's raining so you lift an umbrella. What's more natural than that?

Maybe it's the letterboxing but this has such a movie feel to it. The umbrella works brilliantly against the drab rainy surround.
