 These are my son's boots and my daughter's riding boots. When off the children, the boots are calm and serene, when on the children all hades can break loose! ;)

Cropped, grayscaled, adjusted curves, adjusted brightness and contrast, curves again, bordered and resized.

Nice shot and interesting choice of color and composition. Without the title, the picture doesn't convey any conflict message.

Nice image. Good composition and great job on a tough exposure however, I don't get the conflict that this is supposed to represent....

I like the low-key effect here, although I think it might be just a tad bit *too* dark.

Okay, guess I see the conflict here but don't really find this very interesting to view. Technically, not bad at all and I can't fault it.

Good contrast except the outline of the boots is hard to judge.

too dark. the boots are barely distinguishable and (for me) does not fit the challenge well - it doesn't say 'conflict' without an explanation. Show the pic to strangers, and say nothing. Ask "What is the first thing that comes to mind?" or even 'What is the conflict in this image?' and let me know if anyone gets it.
