 This is Fanney Lára, I doubt anyone will recognize her as I have never photographed her before for DPC but I have a couple of shot´s of her on Flickr and she is week 30 in my PAW project. Wasn´t really going to enter this challenge but I saw this "Ice Queen" photo on photo.net a couple of years ago and I always liked that idea and since there were only about 50 entries earlier today I put together a photoshoot on short notice. Not really sure this is the best photo as I am editing this half past 1 am and getting very sleepy but I like the shot. The snow is just the regular "snow in a can" you get at the store, the elf ears are the same we have used in the past and the ornament in Fanney´s hair is some christmas decoration Eva had lying around.

This is actually the first DPC entry that Henný didn´t do the makeup on (well of those that used a makeup artist) but our friend Eva Hrönn did the makeup on this one, was fun to work with someone new, before today she has only helped us/me out with the bodypaint shot´s.

Lit this one with 4 lights, one big softbox from front, one big softbox from behind on my left for back/hairlight and another light with a honeycomb from behind her on my right for much less hairlight from that direction and the fourth light with a narrow honeycomb on the blue backround for the gradient in it.

How the HECK do you guys always spot my images during voting? I try so hard to stay anonymous by using new models no one here should recognize but still you mangage to pick them out? It´s freaking me out :)

This is Photographed well, usual to your style, perfected lighting and the background is awesome, eyes do it well. However something is just off.. the "snow effect" is applied half slapstick, and doesn't add alot. the "ice crystals" in the hair are strange at best they don't make sense at the places they are. The eyebrows are just strange, something isn't right or natural about them, too fake almost. You have great stuff Larus, but I know you can do better with the same concept!

Congrats on a beautiful shot. I know for myself, when I see this type lighting, that much clarity and beautiful models I think its you. Your portraits are always top notch and I think everyone feels the same. Congrats again on the Ribb.

There must be something REALLY special about how you do things.
So the way to truly blend in, is to teach 100+ other DPCers your techniques... I will volunteer to be one!

This says Larus to me, and if I am wrong well then it is a huge compliment to whoever actually took the shot. Lighting is amazing, and the pop in the eyes is excellent. Use of the white flakes is excellent. Just an amazing shot and my favorite so far. I would love to hear how many lights and placement on this one.

the skintone on the ear doesn't quite match. Also, the expression is lifeless. She's not in character.

looks great, probably ribbon. The ear seems abit off though, the top seems bigger than lobe.

very nice portrait and snowy make-up. The blue eyes (real?) are also a nice match with the background. I would have just maybe preferred a slightly lower crop overall, and the teeth seems odd, probably just an effect due to the lips.

Clean, colorful and wonderfully detailed. But there just seems to be something missing. I am not quite sure what it is. Maybe just the straight up pose or something. I dont know. Its a beautiful image but at the same time it feels a bit flat. Good thing you are probably over in Iceland and can't come here and kick my butt. ;)

Oh very nice. Blues are nice in this photo, and the Ice all over here is icy hott! Those ears look a little too fake, there are some that look real.
