A battle of the minds, very well done. Excellent DOF on this shot, the lighting is well done. The one right corner is a bit distracting, maybe a slightly tighter crop? A 7

This is out of focus. Yes, there is a difference between soft focus and bad focus. It is also too grainy in an unappealing way. 4

nice chess shot. would like to see more contrast, but I think that would have blown out the highlight on one of the pieces

noisy or grainy pic. (particularly visible in the white pieces.) not sure i like the very foregound blury bits(other pieces? can't tell, distracting then)

Nothing in your photo seems to be in focus. Good composition and B&W treatment. One of the foreseeable chess shot in this challenge. (5)
