From a shooting for our LAN-Project. Red color on silicone-paper, a russian gasmask, a chain, a 500 Watt Light straight from above, softair-guns a lot of fun :o)
The guy isn't so bad at all... it just seems so.

color, brightness, contrast, gradation, size and sharpness in Photoshop - that's it.

Can't beleive you didn't get higher than you did. I beleive jonpink was right about his comments, unfortunately..... people did score this low due to the reality of the shot.

A great impact photo. Not much that I would change. I would expect this to be very highly placed.

Strong picture, nice take on the challenge. Great choice for color.

Where is the think you killed? I want more of it I need I need give me some freshness plus you could use some more light in the middle of this image to pull out the detain in the mask in and the gun.

Intense image! I think off-center cropping would make it even stronger.

This is an " either you love it or hate it" shot... And I`m just in love with it. Original, depicts the chellenge to a "T". Color and lighting just come together brilliantly to create an artistic photo. I'm sorry to say I have nothing constructive to say about this shot, when it's good it's good! Score: 10 Awesome Job! Good luck!

mmmm... ????

Yikes, that speaks violence and brutality to me, not conflict.
02/26/2004 07:42:43 PM
But a lot of time into this one did you. I think it meets the challenge, one of few that did. It's dark and it's gruesome. As war is. Conflict indeed. a 10

Scary! But represents conflict well and I like the color/contrast treatment to accentuate the theme.
02/25/2004 02:48:53 PM
Freakishly excellent! Nice use of red tones and high contrast to really get the message across. It scares me a little. And I like it.
02/25/2004 02:00:20 PM

02/25/2004 12:40:47 PM
Interesting pic. Very creative. Definitely a 'real' issue. Lighting is great.

I thought this was the EASY way to solve conflict?

Is this by Bing Shen by any chance?

Is it a good shot? Nope sorry, it is fantastic, sublime, superb. One of the best & most original shots I have ever seen on DPC I feel.

The lighting is harsh and well thought out. The pose and props are something we don't see every day and very thought provoking and provocative.

The background works very well, many people would have chosen to shoot something like this on a white or black plain background which would ruin it imho. It conveys a certain feeling of chaos and drama, perfect for this image.

Even the blur of the chain gives this photograph another edge, it's static overall but just that little detail gives it a sense of action and momentum.

I hope that this gets the 1st place it deserves, DPC needs originality from photographers like yourself. I can see a few voting it down for 1) showing a gun and insinuating violence, some for it looking different, thus photoshoped, and others for it not being 'the perfect magazine exposure' I.e blown out detail on the t-shirt and too harsh shadows.

I can't wait to read your critiques afterwards, I will laugh to myself if someone puts any of the above ;)

Honestly my congrats on a superb photograph, I can't fault it in any way possible.
Ten ten ten!

Ps: Also congratulations on my longest comment, sorry for the drivel ;)
