 The hardest part for me on this dpc, was the cropping, i shot several times, but not a single shot was representing good enough the sense of textures, so i choose the best and clearest image and tried dozens of cropings. I hope you like it.

The two different backgrounds just don't work for me. I've seen it on teh site a few times, so others must like it. My advice: ignore my comment and shoot things the way you like, but at least you know what I thought.

You haven't communicated much of that smoothness here - the lighting is quite head on, no? That takes away from the sense of texture in the shot. Good colour, but your positioning of the tie is a bit arbitrary seeming - doesn't give much for the eye to follow through the picture.

The ribbed texture of this silk certainly accentuates the challenge. The dominating print pattern was a bit tough to assimilate. But it is beautifully photographed. Keep up the good work!

i didn't get the feeling that this was silk. more like corduroy due to the ridges. Silk says samooth to me and this picture does not capture that

I like the colors. The texture here doesn't look smooth, however. I'm not crazy about the composition. I'm not sure how I would do it differently, but it just appears kind of plunked down on the table and shot. There is texture, I just don't think it goes with the title.

As I learned from my first challenge, the texture of your blck background is visible here... subject is a bit to close.
