 Miniature horse with the most amazing light blue eyes. Overlayed with 2 textured layers, one blurry bark, one gunge off the top glass of the fish tank. Multiple layers of each, different modes, played with opacity. Desaturated horse slightly.

Top layer of 2 tone browns -render-clouds. Blurred that. Masked and brushed the horse back onto the canvas with charcoal scraping paper brush (dry media brushes) to add texture.

well now that i've seen the original i totally retract my previous comment .. i've never seen a horse with eyes like that .. it actually looks INSANE .. :)

i'm always hesitant to say anything negative about an image, especially when it goes against everything everyone else has said .. firstly I LOVE YOUR PROCESS .. the texture and horse combination is a total winner .. stunning actually ... as a thumb i thought WOW .. when i opened it i was disappointed because the horse seemed to be just about like an alien with those eyes .. if you were going for an aggressive out there look then you've achieved it .. IMO horses have the most beautiful and gentle eyes .. their eyes are one of their very best features, along with their flying manes and tails and incredible definition in their muscles, their shape, their nature, i could go on .. coz i absolutely love horses .. anyway .. i'm sorry if i'v offended you, and i wasnt going to leave a comment because i cant say i like something if i dont .. you know i'm one of your biggest admirers so one out of the hundreds i've loved of yours aint bad !! ..:)

Hey great idea about fish tank scunge got plenty of that! I really like the way you have alot of texture but the horse still stands outand ....those eyes!

Almost creepy, and masterfully done. The comp and choice of overlays are excellent - just like those wonderfully muted tones.
