Day 2! I'm getting a bit bolder with the overlays than yesterday. I really do want feedback, both positive and negative, so please don't hesitate to criticize! I can take it.

Here's the original:

Many many thanks to philup for the use of the texture that I borrowed from him, from this thread.

Note: I up'd the curves a little after I posted this, and then replaced the file.

This is beautiful. Now please don't take this the wrong way ... I can see it as the cover of a suspense novel or a romantic novel from days gone by. Since I like reading stuff like that, it was indeed a compliment.

There's a nice moodiness to the portrait, enhanced by the texture. I like that you've erased most of the textured effect from the face. Nice, soft glowing highlights. I'd agree that maybe the skin tones could be tweaked a bit for a more natural look. Overall, an excellent job!

Wow you are getting bold it's huge step up well done! Cant wait to see what you are doing by the end of the month! I had a thought about the window ( or door not sure! ) maybe you could try three seperate images ,take a photo of the girl but not through the window, then take a photo of the window that way you would have alot more control over the window and where to place it over the girls body and which part of the window you want to use and then use the texture. PM me if I'm not mkaing sense!

The overlay certainly enhances the mood of the shot. I also really like the colours here, although the purple tinge on her face could use some attention, as it makes her appear a little dead-ish.

THAT IS FABULOUS. Isn't that the best layer? I used the same one on my "Her World" shot. Just awesome.

Wow amazing lighting, editing, everythings perfect. Thats quite a job when compared to the original. The only thing that bothers me is that the window frame is grey, not black, but it should be simples to fix.

i'm sorry but i cant criticize this one !! ... the texture adds some interesting a pleasing colouring to your original and i love the curtain look .. they're both excellent in my opinion .. i loved this processed one a lot, and then i opened the original .. in some ways i prefer the original, but that's just my opinion .. i really like the darkness in it and how her face is more in shadow .. :)

Cool! Looks like a shear curtain. Love the mood! The overlay enhances the feeling of separation between subject and viewer and pulls the color tones into a cohesive whole. How fun is that!
