Everyone is being bombarded with my kids as of late. Oh well - I work with who I can. I must say that my wife gets frustrated with me at times because they are her only models as well and they are getting way too much face time in my entries. Sorry honey. I love you!

I am excited about this image. I have absolutely no clue what other images will be in this challenge but I have high hopes for this one. Which is usually a bad thing. I don't normally forecast my images to score well, but man I am hoping for close to 7 on this one.

This is Aidans Halloween costume. Aimee made the outfit and we got the helmet and axe at a Halloween supply store (which reminds me that tomorrow they are having a 50% off sale on everything - new props!!!) Same light setup as my shot of Rowan in New. 420ex to the left using a bounce umbrella, fired by the 580ex on camera. Black velvet behind him with him standing on a chair cause the velvet isnt long enough to reach the floor. Before each shot I told him "Look angry!" And I must say that he delivered well.

I went to town dodging and burning this shot to bring out the detail on the axe and enhance Aidan's facial features. The rest of the PP goes like this - RAW conversion in Lightroom, levels, hue/sat adjustments, contrast mask, NI, dodging and burning, dodging and burning, a little more dodging and burning, crop, minor cloning on his face and the edges where the velvet didnt cover the door drapery, resize, USM, another hue/sat adjustment to reduce the orange skin tint, maybe a bit more dodging and burning and done. (Plus maybe a little more dodging and burning.)

Post challenge - Whooh hooh! I had so hoped this would ribbon - and on my birthday no less! Thank you all for your votes and comments. I truly appreciate them.

And to show you all he did go out as a viking -

There's my sweet little "too" front & center on the homepage - just where he belongs! The face of an angel - am I right? AM I RIGHT?! Congratulations on your ribbon with a kid shot - practically unheard of! Very well done. Tremendous portrait...maybe there is a market for Halloween portraits? Hmmmm...... : )

For there to be peace in this world, we must all learn to communicate.

But how can we teach them all to speak Norwegian?

Well you beat me and you earned it. Less than an hour ago my score was up where yours was. Guess the Lower 20 didn't do me good haha. But I'm excited. There was a lot of really REALLY good images here and I thought for sure I wasn't going to win a ribbon. Another Red for the books sure ain't bad. Congrats buddy.
