Here's another photo from Hava Java. I know not all of you like this type of processing - and that's too bad. :o)

I cropped this to include three unrelated people. Jutilda initiated a thread about creating a story in a photo, and I thought, there's a story in here somewhere.

The woman was sitting with a much older man (whose white shirt and white hair were totally blown out so he had to be cropped).

The guy standing had been orbiting for a while. He was giving me the up-down and seemed to be scouting for something. He had that cheesy gangster look. The guy in the back emerged from the bathroom and was making for the exit.

Obviously, I used LA Exposure and Perfectum, fiddled with the color balance and shifted it towards the greens and cyans. Added the frame to give it more focus on the people - like this is a moment that has been eternalized and is now static. These three people are forever linked through the photo, and I am linked to them.

I remember examining this shot when I first joined here. It looked so much like a scene from a mobster movie to me. That guy with the glasses looks like a hitman. Lovely colors.

Fantastic processing. I love how the lady in the foreground looks so worn down and tired yet she doesn't look that old.

You're right that a lot of people don't like this but I think it's great.

The processing accentuates the unique character captured in each face. This is deinitely one that invites many different stories to be conjured up. Got a big kick out of Roz's version. :D

I'm not a big fan of LA -- it's easy to overdo it, but it works well here. This has a very Hopperesque feeling -- a slice of the not so pretty part of life. Well done.

It would be nice to see more people, but works well in focusing on the woman and guy standing. What a look she has and your processing really brings out a bit of sadness I think; it looks like she's had a rough life and probably isn't as old as she looks. I'm not a fan of the wide border, but overall an excellent job Alicia!

mad .. this definitely has a story, and it looks like a sad one too ..
she looks like she's looking at the bottle and thinking 'i should'v stopped at one, or maybe two, and not the ten i finally had!!' .. i mean its probably water, but in my mind its a very large bottle of alcohol which has caused her such distress .. altho if she had that much water it could cause distress too !!!!!!!
you are funny .. saying you had to crop out the poor guy with the white hair and white shirt .. with your processing skills you could'v given him a hair job in minutes .. !!!!!!!!!! lol .. and i've found that the things we feel are bad elements in a photograph often appeal to other ppl .. but of course you are creating the image for your likes and dislikes ..
the gangster guy probably just didnt like his photograph being taken, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS !!!!!!
great shot alicia .. and a great story, even if mine was a bit different to the real thing .. it happens !!!!!!! :):)x

Amazing! Love the processing, looks like a painting (I repeat, you are the master of combining LA and Perfectum!); you bet there is a story in this image!
