While camping I threw out some popcorn and up came this duck. It was dark, and raining so it was handheld at a low shutter speed. I like the texture implied by the color and the duck's red bill area. I cropped, adjusted levels and saved for the wev.

composition isn't great imho, the subject and textures are.

What kind of a duck is that? Looks more like an exotic chicken or turkey or something. Good texture bye the way.

Great color, great composition, but I wih the face of the duck were just a touch sharper... the same goes for the leaves... a telephoto shot to snap it all into focus at once would be nice!

Interesting subject. It has different textures. Nice composition.

Duck? Weirdest looking duck I have ever seen. I think that the forest floor represents the texture in this picture more than the bird does.

very muted light here - works well to bring out the red of the thing's (whatever you call the beak surround) face. Not a great deal of impression of texture however - which is the downside of that quality of light. Your positioning of teh duck's head in frame leaves something to eb desired for me: it's very central, and makes for an odd look to the overall composition, especially with the boidy going out of frame like that.

I like this guy. He's bright and fun and certainly the entire image meets the challenge. The composition does seem to appear in halfs though and this is frequently a compositional difficulty. Maybe more duck and less ground cover would work well.

that's the ugliest duck I've ever seen..lol...pic somewhat out of focus which sort of hurts my eyes when I took at the bird's body.

The texture is here. The subject and composition don't hold my interest.

Focus could have been stronger on the bird.

I have too say.. This is the weirdest duck head i ever seen!
The combination is good. The background is screaming texture and the colors of the duck comes realy sharp at you.. (7)

something does not look right to me - the duck body is too dark, some of the forest floor appears out of focus, the neck fether appear blurred (may be optical illusion)

composition leaves me cold
