Putting the know a little lower in the frame should help with the composition. Other than that, I think the texture of the tree is interesting.

the lighting and the colors seem a little flat. i'm not sure about your shooting conditions, but maybe working on the exposure would help. or maybe some levels adjustment to bring out the rich colors in the wood.

Nice shot, interesting textures created not only by wood but also by treatment.

Nice color and pattern, but the wood grain image is so well represented that voting will not do this shot justice.

Nice capture of texture, and the colors are very pretty too.

The texture is great...I like the wood grain and the texture that was left by the saw blade. However, the picture doesn't wow me at all. 5

Almost too well lit - I mean that its a pure head-on illumination. taking the light more to angle across the wood would produce much more feeling of texture. What you've shown here is more about the paterning of colours in it than the feel of it. Some sense of the striations from the saw though.

not very interesting to me sorry. Perhaps in B&W would be less usual?

Pretty chunk of wood with the interesting knots. I think your light was too strong, but your could help this with a burn tool or re-shooting with diffuse light. Neat shot.

Nice wooden texture, but in my opinion nut much more than that , there is nothing here that you do to make this picture yours, no special lightning or angle or something, like taking a picture of a nice looking carpet, No offending ment, just my opinion, Good luck - 4
