This is a poorly lit and composed shot. The harsh lighting denies any feeling of texture and the composition manages to lose all the aspects of the subject that are interesting (fur, eyes, whiskers etc) Experiment more with lighting and exposure to see what works better.

Composition is interesting with the head placement. Looks a bit over exposed. May work much better without a dark frame. White would match better.

Overexposed and the border is too big. Is it a cat?

Texture is there ok but the lighting is just too harsh.

The image is too small and the border is too thick. This shot is overexposed as well.

The lighting is too harsh and washes out much of the texture... perhaps a diffuser on the flash.

Why hide your photo with that big fat border? It detracts from the critter.

Maybe a little overexposed

An awfully big border for a small image.

Sorry, there is nothing good about this.

This might have been great, but the light was way too harsh.

too small to see much texture

Would have been better with less flash, as it is now it is very bright and overexposed in many places. The composition is very good, I like that the cat is not centered in the picture. There is nice texture but alot of the detail of the cats face is lost due to the brightness of the picture.

very small image? Good bright textures though - just needs to be bigger

Poor. Badly over-exposed and dreadfully lit anyway. very small, but even so the quality of the image remains distinctly dodgy. No real sense of feeling at all.

I would have loved to have seen this as a bigger post. As is, details seemed washed out

Bit too much light.

This image is magical. I don't know what you did to achieve the effect (and don't care) it's just beautiful. But, oh dear, that border! Away with it! Makes it hard to see the magic.

A close up shot would've been a whole lot better. The thick black frame is distracting along with the shine of the animals coat. Check out the first place winner from the last texture challenge and that would give you idea of what I am talking about. 2

Details are very washed out in this, and the smallness of the shot doesn't help. Looks like it could be very cute. Border is way too think IMO.

Good composition, but pic is overexposed to bring out texture of dark fur. It's a tough subject to shoot.

It can clearly show textures, but I canĀ“t realli discover the subject behind this, it has much light and soft focus.
