Elegant and unusual - really like that I can see that dividing line between wet and dry on the leaf surface itself.

wow pat, congratulations on a pb .. this is such an excellent photograph with those wonderful brown tones of the leaf complementing the blue of the water .. the way the water smooths over the leaf is just fantastic .. :)

Patio Babe, HUGE CONGRATS. This gal is expanding ... where's the floral for the macro. Glad it did well. 40, woooohooooo and a 6.2, AND a brand new personal best. Good going.

Woo hoo! ANOTHER personal best! Three challenges, three personal bests. Now that's what I call growth. :) FWIW, I gave this an 8 - I thought it really captured what macro photography is all about: showing us details we wouldn't normally see. And you did it in a nice composition with beautiful shallow DOF. I especially like how the water's surface tension is just barely holding back the flood. It tells a story of life lost and on the verge of being swept from memory entirely.

Very nice image. Like the composition. Like the oof leaf. The mix of textures captured is very good, especially the tension of the water against the edge of the leaf, reminiscent of crude oil.
