I'm not sure I get this photo. Although I want to get it... leaves letting go of the tree?
I see where the "whimsical" comes into play, those colors are indeed whimsical! For me, they're a little to bright, the glare on the rock is distracting. A higher shutter speed would've maybe helped a bit. If you've adjusted the contrast afterwards, then maybe try a little less contrast and a little less brightness in the future.
