the horizon is leaning a bit to the left, however this is still a really nice shot. I like the lonliness of the tree..adds a lot to the neg. space idea. your focus and clarity are great, and the lighting was definately on your side. really nice job. good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~

Very striking. This reminds me of the tree portrayed in the "Little House on the Prairie" opening credits. Composition and colors are very good.

I might have been inclined to shoot this one in BW, as the dead plants are integral to the lonely image of the tree, and BW tends to emphasize that broken feeling.

think I'd prefer to see the horizon line flat - even though it probably wasn't in reality

Nice negative space and great framing. It makes you feel like the field goes on forever.

Great shot. I like how you did negative space in the foreground and the had the tree and nice area in the back. Good shot. 9

Very nice composition. I like this better than some others because your "negative space" isn't all uniform (i.e.: one solid color) which a lot of people seemed to do this week. It probably would have worked equally as well if you shifted prspective and filled most of the frame with the sky instead of the field.

I really like this. The composition is just beautiful and an excellent entry for this challenge. My only real problem with it is the bright sunlight. I think you might have tried a diffrent time of day. The focus is also a tad soft maybe, but this is a hard focusing situation. 9 ~indigo997

Great shot. The question immediately comes to mind, "What the hell happened?!?"

I like this photo but the lighting is a little harsh for my taste. I would love to see this same photo just before sunset or sunrise. rcrawford 6

Perfect! This tree will not be the same with all that dry grass around.

Very good. Maybe a bit too much sharpening/over exposure. Love the composition. Good luck. Score 7 Justine

Visually, more appealing than Noel and / or Liam. I think a more equal balance of earth and sky would improve this photo. Nevertheless, a decent shot.
