Took a long time to get this shot, the two kings kept rolling around. Desaturated it in photoshop, also adjusted the levels, saturation, and brightness a little. Hope you like it.

Very nicely done! I would have givin you a solid 9 on this picture. Really creative ;)

I agree with all of you on the shadow, I actually didn't use any light s for this photo. I just took it next to a window. I couldn't get rid of the grain since neat image isn't alowed in this challenge. I did try neat image, and it did helpe a lot, gave the photo soft focus, and got rid of almost all of the grain.

Thanks everybody for comenting, and critiquing.

Good concept but I believe that better lighting particularly in area between pieces would have made this pic strikingly better. Focus also appears a bit weak.

Great idea, the Black and white background really set it off. The only thing I would change is the Line between the B & W paper would be in the middle or in between the pieces. But that is just me....I gave you a 9

Would have worked better if the white piece was 'whiter'

I love the lighting and composition of this pic.

II think the focus on the chess pieces is a bit off.

This was one of my top 3 rated photos for this challenge. I think its a bit of a stretch for the topic, but it is definitely one of the better taken photos. Good symmetry, well lit and well shot. 8

I think the pieces could have been placed better.

Ahhh, great use of negative/positive space!

Nice Idea, never would have come up with this one by myself. 10

lovely, some grain, but I like it. 7

nice idea, the glare on the white chess piece takes away from the strength of the image in my opinion as well as the shadows in the middle. 6

In almost any other competition, this would get a *great* score from me, because the focus, composition, contrast, and, well, *everything* are great. However, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the zodiac (either of them), so I have to grade it way down in this particular competition. :-/ Beautiful image, though.

Interesting idea, but the light source is not helping you at all.

Score would be higher if they where better aligned to the line and less shadow.

Would've preferred it without the shadow on the black king, other than that I like it ;)

Should have gotten rif of the shadow. Good idea/composition. Bad quality
