Man, I NOW know I've been working to hard. I totally missed this shot and the whole challenge, now that I think about it! This is one of the best examples of framing within the shot that I've seen in a while! All the lines in silhouette, if you follow them around, lead to the sunset!

The only thing that I can find to comment bad about the shot seems to fit into it so naturally that I'm almost afraid to say it. There's a light post right in front of the sun but with the pole and transformer on the right border it just seems to fit in. I get the impression of someone stepping out to take a smoke break, glancing up and seeing...

And you tell me I've come a long way. Very good shot my friend! [tip hat][/hat tip]

Thanks everybody for the comments. I actually took this shot after I started this thread. I would like to thank Pedro for the joking email that he sent that got me to start the tread and thus the shot.

Very nice shot, meets the challenge well with the road sign, but theres more to your shot. The colours in the sky etc are really nice, the shillouettes of the trees and power lines are good. 9

Perfect sign for the perfect background! I love the clearness of the word "SUNSET" on a very bright white sign.

This is pretty good. The colors were pretty good. Something went wrong though. It's breaking up a bit at the top probably due to saturation. MIght be a little oversaturated. Its a nice shot still. 7

Nice photo. The sign goes with the picture very well. It would have been better if the sky was more interesting. More orange a nd less blue would have helped, this could have been achieved a little earlier in the day, or on a day with more clouds. The power lines, and all the stuff in the background on the right side is a little distracting.

Pretty colors. Sunset and Vine? LOL I see some noise, but in the low light it happens with some cameras. Your 100% on topic for the challenge.

Nice colour & composition, Would be nice without the wires, however I don't think they distract too much

Very good idea, and a nice shot overall. It would have been a bit better if you could have found an angle to eliminate the wires. And somehow got a higher angle, e.g., if you have a LCD that moves like on my camera, you could holding your tripod and camera overhead and still compose (if no higher perspective was available). But this is certainly still one of the better road-sign shots! It's hard to make road signs look good.

Great capture ... one thing I don't like is that blue tone on the road sign. -9

Sweet. Cool idea! Great colors. Unfortunate for the wires and electric box (?) to be off to the left and that light pole in the middle. But, I am sure atleast 1/2 dozen others have already told you the same thing......

Excellent picture, what a catch. I'm sure it wasn't easy getting the reflection off the sign just right either. Nice job!

A great shot. Colours are a bit too saturated for my taste, but that is a personal (or posssibly geogphic) thing. Excellent composition.

Yup, that street is aptly named . . . lighting on sign looks a little unnatural, but good capture.

Exposure is good - I like the simple sunset, the lit sign, and the silhouetted trees. The blue is nice and deep although there appears to be a small amount of noise, whether from the high ISO or the saturation of the blue in post-processing. The connection between sign and background is apt, and the uncluttered feeling is good too. Quite a mellow scene.
