Philadelphia city is dotted with community gardens. They are wonderfully eclectic from all the tastes of the individuals involved. This is a rather wild part of a garden that was by a restaurant in West Philly where Bev and I took my Mom for dinner last week for her birthday. I say wild because the flowers are all outside the gate and fence of the community garden. I waited til after dinner to shoot to get some soft light.
I love the balance in this shot. The colours in the flower are beautifully accented by the colurs in the background, DOF is awesome. Beautifully seen and captured.
This is gorgeous! Lighting is right on. The background really complements the echinacea and the framing on the left by greenery works so well. For all your entries thus far, this is the best, IMO. (It would make a beautiful print, too!)
Planned "reckless" gardens, as I like to call, are the best sort of gardens...plant a bunch of things close together, with reckless abandon, and you won't see the weeds..I really enjoy this riot of color.
Wow, this is beautiful! Truly a summer garden. If I were picky and allow myself to mess with mother nature, I'd clone out the little bud/piece of leaf intruding at the bottom of the image.
The early evening light is beautiful for garden shots. Philadelphia must be a city of flowers if the volunteers growing outside the gate are this pretty. PS Happy Birthday to your Mom!
