I don't understand the connection between the hair and strawberry. Technically it is overexposed, or you pushed the levels or brightness/contrast too much, but the focus is good.

I'm surprised you didn't use color here. A very unique arrangement...not sure why you put the strawberry in the hair. Is it strawberry blonde? Sure...I think I got it!
Good luck in the callenge. Gracious aka Grayce

I think this would have looked better in color, to me it looks kind of blah without the red punch

The contrast on this photo is to bright. The left has a bright glare to it and the right makes you focus on the tiny strands of hair.

neat! i really like the fruit blending in with the hair and the overexposure. 9--amitchell

The detail on the strawberry is very good, and I think the high contrast and lighting works very well, nice crop too! 8-Martin.

Sorry, too overexposed.

Well, as composition goes, what's with the strawberry and the hair? I don't get it. The contrast is way off balance in my opinion.

Wonderful highlights. I am a sucker for overexposure that helps to emphasis high and low contrast and the combination of human element and the berry is excellent..Maybe just a little TOO overexposed by maybe a fraction to me missed this getting a perfect marks...9..hokie

Not sure I like the hair in the photograph and is a bit over-exposed.
09/10/2002 01:30:00 PM
I would have named it strawberry blonde...otherwise a great photo
09/10/2002 12:20:00 PM
this photo seems a bit overexposed...
09/10/2002 02:25:00 AM
why B&W
09/09/2002 06:19:00 PM
I don't understand why you would use b/w on this photo. It should only be used if it adds to the photo and this doesn't. The red of the strawberry is what gives it the punch in a photo. I just don't care for a strawberry sitting in someones hair. Sorry.

Parts of this are wonderful and parts I just don't care for. The hair on the right, really nice, the strawberry also great, the stem cap and the rest of the photo are blown out. This may be for effect, but I don't like it. 6 Swash

the first question that popped into my head is 'why?'. i may be missing something here. as for the photo, i suspect you went for the overblown hair deliberately, but i'm not sure i like it. i'm also wondering what it would've looked like in color ... strawberries are such a lovely red. -- gr8photos.

This is a neat photo.. I like the blown out highlights, but my mind is begging to see this strawberry in RED!!! Care to share your ideas behind going black and white with this photo? - jmsetzler

I think color would've suit this picture better.
09/09/2002 12:04:00 PM
i like the idea of doing something different but why in b&w if fruit is all about color...?
09/09/2002 10:45:00 AM
This is a good idea with good artistic merit… But, perhaps, colour would have worked better than B&W…
09/09/2002 08:58:00 AM
oh I don't know... there really is good texture on that strawberry but doing this in black and white just seems like a crime.
09/09/2002 01:34:00 AM
I like this one. I see the reason why it is a bit overexposed. maybe too much in the bottom left corner?
