While I think the tight crop could work well, I do think it needs just a bit more on the left and top -- it feels a bit tight/cramped as it is.

an interesting subject.
maybe by cropping out the phone and blue bag would give it more impact rather than detracting from the main subhect and the pink?

Nice image, on my monitor it seems a tad blown out between the buttons on the shirt but I love the matching turban and shirt which really gives this image a strong impact
