 Historically, the origin of the "dulce de leche", (milk candy?), was an accident. The cook of the Argentinean General San Martin, American liberator, put to boil sweetened milk and forgot it per hours. So , it's an Argentine invention.

Hehehe I'm putting on weight just looking at that ;-) the lighting isn't very even though. Did you use the in-camera flash?

Nice colors. I love the subtle swirls within the caramel (this is caramel, right?). If I had to say one bad thing about the photo, it's that the hardened part of caramel on the right is distracting. It takes away from the silky smoothness of the sugar. 9
