Camera: Canon PowerShot S2 IS
Location: Arlington, VA

With the camera on a tripod, my daughters did a few cartwheels. Each one took about 2 seconds, using up about 5 shots at 2.4 fps.The tripod meant the background didn't change during each cartwheel, which took a couple of seconds.Sinec I shot at 2.4 fps, the background never changed from shot to shot. I used the leftmost shot as the "base" layer and layer masks on the other two shots to them on top.

I cloned out a a couple of girls far away in the upper left.

Other than that, standard editing: sharpening each pic individually, a soft light layer to darken her skin and jeans a bit, crop, resize.

Wonderful image. I really like it. One thing, maybe making the lines kind of a transparency if that makes sense? That way you can still see the lines but see the image itself. The white still seems stark.

However, terrific shot. I love the action. The whole idea is wonderful and the individual frames you captured are spot on.

I like how you carried her tumbling movement across the frames - for the subject of cartwheels that was a very nice touch. I think sometimes with "progress"-type triptychs the framing can have the effect of periods when they should be more like commas - what you did with the framing here made them into commas (if what I just said makes any sense at all let me know!).

I really liked this piece, gave it an 8. Thought the image overlap was a wonderful idea for such a spirited story. Great stuff :)

Oooooh, I love how you did this with the hand overlapping the border! Great job, Jeffrey. . .and a very cute idea for a triptych.

I really like how you set this one up and how you did the framing. Great shots of your beautiful daughter!

I didn't vote on this one but I think it would have made a seven from me. If I had to nitpick at a detail then it would be the way the shadow is falling across the back of her leg in the centre shot. Otherwise fun and dynamic, good use of the trip.

Hi from the Critique Club

First Impression was Good picture, like that the foot and hand were out of the frame.

Technically
All the shots are in focus and the lighting is good. Editing is great and the out of frame makes the picture.

Composition.. Works well, my only thing to nit pick is the background buildings but that is really only a minor distraction.

Meets Challenge
Yes

Final Thoughts.
A nice all around picture, well executed and well received by the voters.

Best of Luck in future challenges.

Nice framing technique here - Maybe more of a personal appeal than public.

I particularly like how the arm is coming out of the third frame and appears to grab the middle frame. Nice detail attention.

Really like how you let the photos overlap the border. That ties the panels together really well, and the obvious continuity of action is strengthened nicely.

Her feet and hands outside of the frame add much visual interest. Nicely done.
