 The Dom in Cologne. Used all sorts of stuff on this - tonemapped the single image, converted to B&W, used Idnic's "moving the light" bit, dodged, burned. Massive editing for me! Probably should be my April Free Study but entered something else instead.

The scale is amazing! I love the exposure in the sky! This one just jumped out at me as I was looking at your portfolio. Really nice!

WOW!!! This is absolutely STUNNING!! I LOVE IT!! The processing is just intense, I really like the tones and almost high contrast feel in this. Fantastic work!!

i wasnt so intrigued by the thumbnail, and overlooked it a few times, today i decided id open it up,
so glad i did.
this is incredible!

I'm just now getting to page 11 out of 19 for this thread lol. Love the dark tones, perfect for an old structure. Of course the sky adds to that deep and serene feeling. Love what you did with the moving the light!

wow..I always think dodging and burning is overused..because people aren't always using it like this...wonderfully explored and full of dramatic life...amazing!

Well - I love this shot. Not really diggin the square crop. The square crop just takes away from the massiveness that is this pic. Love the heavy editing. Has a Gotham City kind of feel. Excellent work Deb.

Really like the PP on this one. Very nice. I like the dark and gloomy stormy night feel to this, Melethia.

I whole heartily agree with posthumous, crop to square format getting rid of the top. That image is magical (fav material :)!

All gothic cathedrals look the same from this angle. For me, all your crazy processing was the key to getting something memorable from this shot. You've made it... well... more gothic. It also reminds me of German silents, Fritz Lang with far more detail.

The only thing is that eventually I notice the man on the bottom and I realize you're trying to feature him in some way. For me, the competition between man and cathedral cancel each other out.

I can't help but notice that if I "crop" off the top (by scrolling down) to be approximately square, the man becomes the focal point and the picture is just astounding and strange and unique. My kind of picture!

This is amazingly - almost chilling - brings to mind the movie from the 80's Ghostbusters - powerful skies - WOW!

Really like the man sitting dead centre in the front, think he's fabulous, if only his head was less light!

Debs...Blimey you come in late and then blow us away with an image like this...clear off we dont need your sort here ;-)

What a fantastic image, for me one of your best. I love the perspective and you really get a feel of the spire of the Catherdral towering into the sky

The PP you have done gives a real 3D feel and those wispy white clouds are magnificent

An imposing shot without being over powering. The placement (be it lucky or otherwise)of the chap at in the bottom middle of the frame is great. You can follow a percendicular line up from the top of his head to the very peak of the spire and again for me this just adds to the sense of grandeur of the architecture if you compare the two elements

If your APril Free Study is better than this I cant wait to see it

this photograph is FAR OUT .. great perspective thing happening here ... and you have an excellent lens .. there is so much going on ... the building the people .. the contrasts are excellent .. there is so much DRAMA .. i reckon this is one image that looks heaps better as black and white .. all mine look better in colour!! .. black and white is sooooo hard!!

this is a stunning photograph - the dodging around the man sitting in the foreground is perfect. It looks like the cathedral is going to suck him straight up to heaven!

Well if Sevil gets a wide angle in NYC then I will have no alternative but to get the 15mm fisheye ;-). That said, I concur that this is a rather lovely work of architecture and you have made your photo of it almost like an icon.
