Good idea. Nice uncluttered composition. The string lieading out of the picture allows my mind to imagine what's on the other side. Good choice for black and white.
I love the string coming out toward the viewer and the DOF on the string itself. Good composition, great light and shadows and the door knob is well positioned. 8, Kavey
This might have been a little more efffective if you had used a smaller string, as opposed to a cord that is too big to fit around a baby tooth. Overall this is a very amusing childhood photo though. 7 BAMartin
It's one of those pictures that makes ones eyes water… The shot itself is very well composed and my only gripe is the reflected flash in the door handle. Other than that – it works really well. (8)
Out of all the photos, this is the one that really hits home with me. My father always wanted to pull out our loose teeth by tying a string to the doorknob. Great visual. I like that it is b&w. This photo brings out a smile and a quiver!
This photo scores well with me purely on creativity :) This photo also demonstrates a great childhood fear. I don't know if there would be a better way to light this photo or not... it appears that a flash was used. The dark shadow behind the string hanging from the door knob makes a nice contrast, but the glare on the door knob is just a bit harsh. Natural lighting of some sort may have improved this one overall... good shot! = 8 - jmsetzler
i like the image...it takes a while to understand it....i like the image i think better as an abstract image rather than relating to the tooth pulling of childhood.
yup. I relate. when I was really little dad tried everything he could to yank them teeth out, but in 5th grade, I still had baby teeth and then they wouldn't stop falling out in class. it was aweful. anyway, I love the angle here and I think black and white fits pretty good, considering all attention is on that door. Great idea. Good luck in the challenge.
EEK! I can feel this in the pit of my stomach. My Dad always threatened to do this and the thought scared me to death. Good composition and lighting. Interesting perspective on "childhood". lhall
Nice focus on this one! Mmm..hope it's not your tooth on the other side of the rope ? I tried this once and i can tell not a very good idea ;-) Like the picture, really brings back a memory (i almost forgot...)
This is a great idea that I can really relate to! I don't usually like B&W and most of the "childhood" B&W photos are kind of depressing. This one isn't! It made me smile ';
