Excellent choice of background. What could have been a confusing all-in-view line of pearls have been distinctly separated by smart use of aperture. Even the twinkly colours all round the metalwork are very pleasing, complementary and not distracting.

The blue background makes this because it makes sure that your main subject shines. Very good choice of the background color. I also like the dynamic quality to this by blurring the reflection - it is so paradoxical ... it's a still life but there is some active component as well. Beautiful!

This image sure jumps out at you when you see it for the first time :) I think you did a good job on this, especially using the shallow DOF to highlight the pearl more. Also the way the shallow depth of field creates those blurry colorful dots in the background introduces a cool effect. The choice of blue as the background was the best choice of colors, I don't think any other color would have worked as well. Well done.

A very festive shape. I like yor use of DOF - the front bit is nice and sharp the back ones are out of focus enough so as not to destract or confuse the shape of the the front piece, but they give a nice background - th elight on the sparkles gove nice bubbles of light.

I like this. Shallow DOF works very well here. Nice brilliant colors. Jacko. 9

Gorgeous shot. Love the DOF, color, lighting. I'm not so sure about the almost perfect square dimension of this photo. The crop at the bottom is a little too tight. Maybe a portrait orientation will look better. Nice job. 8

Very creative use of depth of field. Somehow, those shots always impress me and this is no exception.

I didn't expect much from the thumbnail (though I do always reserve judgement until I've taken a good look at the full size image, of course!).
But actually I really like this. I love the effect of the low DOF upon the glitter - the multicolour glitter is perfect for that. Great choice of colour for background and composition works too. This would make a great Xmas card.

The spiral in the foreground bottom really needed to be fully included in the shot. This is slight and somewhat insignificant to an otherwise excellent shot.
