Gotta say it......I too thought this was yours when I voted. You're becoming too predictable with excellence. LOL Congratulations on your third place. (Actually, I was surprised it wasn't higher.) ;'-D

Nice panning! Great composition! Child is sneaking in there on you! Tsk, tsk! ;-) (The phantom child!). Colors, motion, speed - composition. I like it!
08/31/2002 01:38:00 PM
i absolutely love this photo. The color is great, the composition is perfect, and i love the blurred out background!
08/31/2002 06:17:00 AM
Great picture, real sense of movement but still sharp at the foreground. Good job.
08/31/2002 05:39:00 AM
Great movement and excitment. Angle of horses head in frame spot on.
Is that a kid in the background? Apparently not. Freaky expression on face is kind of weirding me out though.

Very nice motion shot. Good composition.
08/30/2002 01:37:00 PM
I really like the sense of motion in this shot. That said, the person in the lower right corner, I could have lived w/o. The detail of the horse's head is amazing!!

Excellent sense of movement and great light and colour. 9 - floyd

This is STUNNING! I love the colours, the dazzling light, and the extreme sense of movment. The composition of this image around the horse, which is made in a pose with its head back and mane flowing, fully accentuates the excitement and movement in the background. I can relate to it very, very well because I was horse mad as a child and LOVED merry-go-rounds (or carousels, or whatever you want to call them) with a passion. This brings back really powerful memories. I have to give it 10, and it's going to go right in my favourites list when the challenge is over :) - lisae
08/29/2002 12:46:00 PM
Great sense of movement here. 7 Jak
08/29/2002 10:29:00 AM
Lots of color...not enough separation between the blurriness and the clear subject of the shot.
08/29/2002 09:51:00 AM
Great color and movement. I wish the rest of the mane were included but i'm sure there must have been something behind you to prohibit a perfect crop :P This carousel sure looks familiar....9 Lisa
08/29/2002 07:08:00 AM
I love this photo it is full of colour and movement! All the excitement of the funfair. sulamk
08/29/2002 06:38:00 AM
Nice color and definition. The movement has been caught very well.
08/28/2002 09:25:00 PM
The stopped motion is grand and I love the reflections on the horse. The "gesture" of the horse itself is very emotional and it is emphasised by the blurred background. The blurred background helps to convey the sense that childhood is an stage of wonderment and mystery. Beautiful image. 9 Journey

this is 1 of 3 lasting 10's 4 me - great pic!
08/28/2002 03:05:00 PM
I really like the colors and "motion" of this shot. karmat
08/28/2002 01:31:00 PM
Nicely done. I like this one. Focus looks good. Lighting lookspretty good. Could be just a bit brighter, but then that could be my monitor... 8
08/28/2002 11:12:00 AM
great shot..I especially like the way you caught the motion.
08/28/2002 07:12:00 AM
Great job,is must have been hard to shoot.
08/28/2002 01:17:00 AM
I love this picture. The colours are great and the movement is well conveyed. Good luck. 9. marcvg

Great shot... The 1st 10 I've found...
08/27/2002 06:42:00 PM
Of the several carrousel images on this week's challenge, this one is by far the best. The cropping was very well balanced, and the colouring and light are marvelous. It seems to be moving. Perhaps another horse in the background instead of a person would have made this perfect. Good luck!
08/27/2002 06:08:00 PM
Super! One of my top picks so far! Great motion -- nicely done all around! Just a teeny bit sharper focus on the horse and this would be a 10.
08/27/2002 02:59:00 PM
Beautiful--what a wonderful photo--what a superb speciman--I enjoy the spinning background--just lovely--andrewm
08/27/2002 12:33:00 PM
I think this a good photograph of its type, contrasting sharpness with the blurred background. And the composition is spot on. In my top ten this week.
08/27/2002 11:22:00 AM
This is the very best of the carousel photos. I love the sense of movement and the bright childhood colors. 8 BAMartin
08/27/2002 10:44:00 AM
Definately reminds me of childhood. This is a really great photo. I loe how the horse it's self is in focus and the background isn't. The lighting is great. I love the colors, angle and frame placement. Very good job and good luck with the challenge.
08/27/2002 10:00:00 AM
This is one of those photos that I wish I had taken. Wonderful colors and movement. Great compositon on this one. Excellent job. 9
08/27/2002 08:28:00 AM
Great image, love the motion and the emotion. Too bad that it looks like you captured a person's face in the image as well. It would have fit the assignment better if the face was not there.
08/27/2002 06:15:00 AM
very colourful
08/27/2002 01:39:00 AM
Very cool!........I really like the motion captured in the background, it increases the sappearance of the spirit of the horse. I wish that witchy face wasn't in the background though. =8 syamjonimi ;'-D
08/26/2002 11:40:00 PM
Looks like a hard shot! Nice photo.
08/26/2002 10:41:00 PM
Wonderful photo! A little different angle, which makes it special, and the photographer just caught everything the right way, IMHO. Nice job!
08/26/2002 08:50:00 PM
good action shot!
08/26/2002 08:05:00 PM
I love the shot.
08/26/2002 07:19:00 PM
very nice. great shot. (updated 8/27... while i like this shot there is something here that disturbs me. after reviewing the photo i think its the combination of the movement and the face in the background. it makes for a macabre scene. thrilling and spooky--kinda like childhood. one of my favs this week. upping score by 1) (9) ~mcmurma
08/26/2002 06:11:00 PM
Of all the carousel and swingset shots, this is my favorite!! Very well captured. 9.
08/26/2002 05:35:00 PM
I really like the blurring and the colors in the background. Well done.
08/26/2002 05:28:00 PM
Wow! Great movement and blur. I like this shot a lot.
08/26/2002 03:32:00 PM

08/26/2002 02:28:00 PM
Fantastic photo! One of my top 5 this week. There are other shots of carosels this week but none can touch this one. Super!!
08/26/2002 01:49:00 PM
I love the movement in this picture. The closeup is great.
08/26/2002 12:04:00 PM
I love the action this shows. The angle and color are GREAT ! = 10 Shiiizzzam
08/26/2002 11:43:00 AM
Wow, I LOVE this one... the feeling of speed, the feeling of excitement, the wanting to be back there... as a child. And horses of any kind are still just about my greatest love! Great job!
08/26/2002 11:39:00 AM
Good choice of composition - captures the motion and evokes some of the uncertainty of childhood. Also can be from the child's perspective of a big, fast whirling world. Well done - mscott821
08/26/2002 09:16:00 AM
High impact, very appealing shot for me. Color, composition, light all work well. Definitely meets the challenge. Very imaginative perspective. lhall (10)
08/26/2002 02:56:00 AM
Well done!
08/26/2002 02:52:00 AM
I like this! it almost looks scary. 6 -lennier
08/26/2002 02:05:00 AM
Now this is my kind of picture. The only thing I would have changed is maybe a little longer exposure time. 8.
08/26/2002 12:47:00 AM
