I'm very greatful for all the great comment and such a high placement in this FS challenge. Thanks everybody for the comments and votes.

To see this guy up close was just amazing to me. I've never seen anything so beautiful in all my life. At the same time I was very sad to him in captivity with his wings clip. I guess thats how it works sometimes.

We have a wildlife resource dept here in Kentucky. I wish I would have known about this place when the wildlife challenge was going on.

Here are some outtakes if you want to look.

Ohmy!! These photos are breathtaking! I don't think I've seen anything as beautiful either! Congratulations on this no-brainer for a great score and high placement!

I feel so sad especially for the birds being in cages and having their wings clipped too. In our zoo, alot of the birds were wounded and rescued and they can't fly anyway so it feels a little better. I guess at least they are safe and well cared for and have the cameraderie of companionship forever.

You sure got some SPECTACULAR photographs of them!!

Very impressive shot. A bit of blur in the peak of the nose, but those eyes are piercing, and excellent feather detail below the beak.

I really enjoyed this photograph. I vote a 10. I love the smooth, clean beak. Oftentimes, beaks are scrached and/or discolored which I find distracting. Your photograph is flawless.

I love the shot. Although imo it would be improved if it was rotated about a degree clockwise to make the features perfectly horizontal.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.
Sharp as a new pin and I bet he tears the flesh like one too. Excellent close-up picture. 7

The detail of the feathers and eyes wonderful and beak is well centered.
Lighting is good, and no distracting objects in the background, because
this closeup fills up the whole frame.
But beyond the technical, a good photo of a bald eagle should evoke
American pride, and this one does.
