this is very sweet. it reminds me of the little chair i had by my grandparents fireplace when i was a kid! the only thing *I* might have done differently is to change the lighting around to highlight the chair/bear more and the background less. but that is only my opinion! nice job! 8--amitchell

Cute pict..background is a drop distracting...the creases on the sheet(?) are too noticable..maybe if the lighting was different you wouldn't notice it as much (I don't have any professional backgrounds yet either!).

I like yoru picture, I think the impact would be a lot better without seeing the texture of the dark background. Nice opposition in colors, very nice composition chair/Bear/rose ... overall 7

Love the saturated colours!!

perhaps photoshop could help "warm" the photo. I feel that the color, is almost as "unatural" as the light source...

I dont normally like Teddy Bear shots but this has an atmosphere that is truly lovely. Tha soft colours--almost washed out and the pose all contribute to an evocative photo. andrewm

Nice choice of location and background. Seems to seriously lack contrast and colour, though. Nice framing and cute subject. 7 - floyd

My wallpaper this week. Very nice!

There's something about the lighting in this photo that really accentuates the fuzzy fur on that bear! Nice work.

Aaaaaaaaw! Nice layout with nothing distracting in background. Bear too light against chair which is too dark. Like addition of roses for colour.

THIS is my favorite photo this week. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I have waited to comment so I could see if the effect of the image would be a lasting one... I love the 'cool' tone of this image. Thee are no harsh colors and the bear just contrasts beautifully with the rest of the image. You have also chosen a great composition by having the bear angled in the chair instead of head on :) The little bit of red from the flowers offers a very nice bit of extra contrast and 'eye candy' in this image. This photo speaks volumes about childhood!

Now... critique... I feel fairly confident that you will get several comments about the background. The cloth is showing some creases that some will claim to be distracting. These don't 'distract' me, but they are noticeable. The almost give me the impression that it's a black wall behind the chair rather than a backdrop. If someone tells you that the background is 'distracting', I think they are looking for issues rather than letting the overall impact of the image 'absorb' into their system :) Flaws in a photograph that are insignificant don't bother me at all. The flaw has to stand out really painfully or create some other problem before I could call it distracting :)

Great shot... I look forward to adding this one to my favorites list on Monday :) I really hope that I see this one on the main page with a blue ribbon on Monday too :) = 10 - jmsetzler

I'd take the "on my 4th" out of the title.

Very, very, very nice! I love how the colors are all nearly B&W except for the rose. This is sharp & clear, simple, and nicely composed. This is my only "10" this week!

This touched me. Was that really given to you when you were 4? It looks like new! Sweet! I like the contrast of colors and the old chair--looks like Granny's too!

What an adorable shot! I love the lighting, it looks almost like it's been desaturated a little. Very nice. lhall

Good contrast of the white and dark, plus the fur and the wood grain. It looks like maybe you were using a filter or somehow toned it down a bit? I don't know, but it works.

Thats a really cute teddy bear. Sitting him in that old looking rocking chair makes it seem even older. 7.

Very nice, very soft picture. I ike the off-white of the bear and the dull red of the flowers.

Thhe lighting is very good and I like the way the chair nearly melts into the black background. Very good !

I like the selective use of color. The chair seems to blend in too much with the background though. Perhaps more lighting on the foreground could have separated the two or you could go the opposite way and use a lighter background. Either one could show off the chair better.
I'm also a little unsure about the crop. The chair is just barely cut off on the left and just barely inside the frame on the right. Maybe a different angle or perspective could help. There's quite a bit of empty space above the chair, but the bottom of the frame is cropped all the way up to the seat. Maybe there is some way to compose it so that the chair seems smaller - more to a child's scale.
Overall, lovely picture with a few technical issues. Nice focus & exposure on the bear. White fur is often hard to shoot. ~indigo997
