It’s a great shot, but I think the link to the challenge is perhaps a little fragile…

I used to love chasing butterflies as a child. I wish that there has been just a wee bit more light on the wings, to bring out a little more detail. BAMartin

This is a very nice shot, but I'm missing the connection to the challenge... Feel free to PM me if I'm missing something obvious ~ myqyl

A bit too dark, and doesn't seem to meet the challenge in my opinion...

Nice photo. Doesn't meet challenge for me, though. I really like the composition though. 4, Dawn

Interesting idea - and something that you or someone else did in childhood, to study butterflies, I take it. Clever! Why didn't we think of that? We just waited for them to land on flowers!
But the butterflies are very dark and the light falls mainly on hte fruit and bark so it's hard to concentrate on the main subject matter.

if there had been some way to increase the contrast between the wings of the butterfly on the left and background, this would have been kickin'. It is still a good picture though. karmat

To me, this photo brings back a memory of chasing butterflies. I don't know what it means to you, but it's good enough for me. The photo is very nicely done. I like the angle this was taken at and the lighting was very good for the photo. I didn't know butterflies ate oranges. I guess you learn something new every day. It is unfortunate that the sign is inthe background. That's not your fault, just an observation. Maybe this could be tried somewhere else, to see about getting a more natural background. I realize that this may have been taken in a butterfly garden, so maybe these are non native butterfiles to where ever the photo was taken. Anyway, very nice photo. Good luck in the challenge.

It's a pity the butterflies are so dark.

Very nice...

This would have been even better if you used a weak flash to light the butterflys. The darkness of them hides them in the darkness of the background. 5.

This is a neat photo... I'm struggling to see the 'childhood' aspect of it though... Maybe a childhood fascination wtih butterflies? - jmsetzler
