Affixed to a stucco wall on the outside of a commercial building, it's not uncommon to see the fire hose connections like this -- along with exterior mounted fire alarm bells, of which there is one about 6-feet above this pipe bib -- on newer buildings here in the Valley ... and they make for excellent minimalism subjects.
The wall here is between a brick red and sort of rusty orange, so I used RAW conversion (ACR 4.0) to push it deeper into the reds and away from the orangish tint.
Little post processing beyond RAW conversion: Crop, shadow/highlights adjustment used to kick up contrast, Selective Color adjustment layer to further enhance the reds (Red channel - Cyan + 15, Black +40), smart sharpen, resize, final sharpen, border added, convert to 8-bit sRGB, save for web. |

| Very minimalistic. Beacuse there is no context it's hard to say what size it is or where it is. It makes the picture even more interesting. Looks like a pice of modern art. I love it. |
