LOL, no she's not Angelina Jolie but she has always been compared to her. She was very happy to hear that people still think she looks like her :)

My best friend, Adriana and her son (my godson) Joaquin.
She asked me to take a nice portrait of her and the baby because he's 7 weeks old and didn't have a photo with him and her in it. I took a bunch of different angles and poses of them, and this definitely wasn't the best pose, but I think her eye contact reaaaaallly made up for that. This was done in fairly low light, so many of the poses where the baby was actally smiling were either slightly blurred, or Adriana's expression didn't look very good. I liked this one because (again) of her eyes and I think Joaquin looks very "pretty", which is nice.

What I DON'T like is definitely the "sholder bump" which may people mentioned. I didn't notice that she had done that until after the shoot. She did that because she's self-conscious of her arms, so I guess she wanted to hide it. I agree though, it does look very akward and distracting. I tried to crop it out , but then the image looked too long and I wanted to keep the curve of her body. Another thing that bothered me is that it's hard to tell she's laying her head on her arm, it just looks like a mass of black hair. Oh well, it didn't seem to bother other people, so whatever.

This was shot on her bed, so the lighting was ambient room lighting as well as a lampshade-less lamp that I was holdng in my left hand while shooting with the right (I know, I'm soooo technical, lol). That's why the lower left side is a bit blown out. As far as the background, I loooooove the way it turned out, but it was actually a plain white wall! I think what happened was when I was adjusting the colors (b/c she has a very golden skin tone and he has a very pink one) trying to make them almost the same color, it just ended up that way. Also did curves, smart sharpen, neatimage, and a soft glow filter.

I like how this scored and am just happy it ended up on my profile page glad ya liked it :)

* btw, I don't know someone thought she wasn't the mother...weird...

My first thought too looking at the thumbnail, that's Angelina Jolie. Nice mother/child portrait.

Her hairline, brow shape and eye color do remind me of Jolie. Might crop this almost to a pano, would eliminate your concern with the bump of her shoulder, and then those sateen lines in the sheet really serve as leading lines. Way cool shot!

This is a beautiful shot, and she really does look like Angelina Jolie. She looks so happy & content in this shot & so does baby, great shot.

I am upset by the "analysis-paralysis " the shot is beautiful , don't tear it apart...well done

lovely shot leah. the leading lines of the sheet are just perfect, a subtle touch that brings you right into the boy, and then up to hismothers fab eyes. well done indeed.

I love this shot!

It's so apparent that this woman's total love is her baby......what a wonderful, wonderful photograph!

I truly enjoy this picture. Both of the subjects are gorgeous, the lighting was just right, and you are so right...her eyes are mesmerizing. The "shoulder ump is just about the only distraction, or detraction, I can see in the photo.

Excellent job. I sincerely believe this photograph should have scored higher.

I'm shocked that someone thought she wasn't the Mom...look at their eyes. Wow! They both have that gorgeous green....it is a beautiful shot.

I like this shot. I find the mothers lack of arm a little distracting. If she has an arm (and I hope she does) I think I would rather have seen it comming down to touch the baby as a point of affirmation and bonding. Without this touch (for me) the picture doesn't quite gel properly.

Two attractive models though, well lit, and nice colouring.

Nicely taken picture. Just that I'm not sure why "the mother's" hand is hidden behind?

I had to take a double take and make sure this wasn't Angelina Jolie. Really like your soft focus here, beautiful eyes on the mother and a beautfiul baby boy. Love the composition also. Congrats and nice work.

Nice very cute, maybe would be better if the baby was also looking at the camera, sence mom is.

Lovely image - Great PP - Love the softness here. Very natural feel here even though it's clearly set up which is great. My one and only very small gripe is the bump shape where the female arm goes behind her back - For some reason i find this distracting but that's just from an outsiders view - I am sure mother would just love this picture and rightly so.
