Setup was easy!

Black Muslin under a piece of glass, 3 ice cubes balanced carefully, a bit of Rubber Cement, Sweet husband holding a handheld flash head with a snoot and honeycomb grid with a blue gel over the light.

Set it all up carefully, turn off all lights, light ice on fire, shoot a few shots, check... and repeat as necessary! :)

This took about 20 minutes to set up, shoot, set up again, shoot and edit. Again.... and as always, a last minute shot.

I of course, can't take credit for the idea... I got the idea from a friend of mine :)

I hope this will do well. Hell, I hope no one else was crazy enough to do this also!

I love the use of the blue gel here - adds to the color immensely!

I love this image! The idea is really deep and I love how there is a reflection beneath the fire and ice.

Nice concept and execution.

Small problem: the mirror.
I think that you are using a mirror that is reflecting from its lower surface and not its upper one, thus leading to the double reflection.
To avoid it, I'd suggest you to either use a mirror reflecting from the upper surface (hard to find), or a black shiny epoxy piece (usually works fine for reflections)

Very original, a shame about the double reflections. Like it anyway.
