 This is the Texas State Capitol. It's in Austin, Texas, which is about 70 miles north of San Antonio, but Austin has become one of my favorite places to take photos. You would not beLIEVE how beautiful and photogenic that town is. And it has the most amazing energy. It's really special for an out-of-towner to come in and experience it. I love Austin!

This was actually taken when we had a dpc get-together in Austin last year, but it was such a fun community "all who live near" thing, I wanted to share it with y'all. It was one of my favorite dpc memories ever! My good friends, Deb (Melethia), Judy (Jutilda) and I hung out all day with Mauri (Arsenal), Matt (Army of nONE), and Mike.

This is the only (or at least it used to be) Capitol that models itself after the Washington D.C. Capitol.

I love it! And I feel the same way about Austin. I went to college in Georgetown and I miss the whole area so much!

Fantastic capture; the building is so sharp and the moon isn't too blown out. The moon being just off the flagpole is a nice touch.

What a great night shot, as I was looking at it I thought it had to be an old one because the moon where I am it is just a sliver :P. I love the balance of the moon and the light of the capitol.

wow sandy .. this is the most awesome photograph .. absolutely love it ... love night shots that work and this works so well ... love the contrasts ... love the beautiful orange/red lights in the building, love the silhouettes of the trees and love that moon with the clouds .... excellent ....
i'm going to meet some other dpc ppl tomorrow in sydney .. its pretty exciting that i'll be meeting a couple of my most favourite photographers as well as getting together with other ppl who share my obsession!!..

Austin is a great place to visit. Not sure how it would be to live there! This is a wonderful shot--love the moon and clouds.

this is really cool sandy, that moon seems like it wants to jump out of the sky...I don't like Austin but only because my best friend and his wife (my surrogate little sister) moved there a few months ago

Very nice capture!

Austin is okay... till you have to deal with the traffic... which sucks! I have to drive there for meetings every couple of weeks and I always hit the traffic.
