 This is our cocker spaniel Lacey. As you can imagine, she is a very pampered and adored member of the family. When I gave her a haircut, I noticed a huge lump in her tail area. We were going to take her to the vet about it on Monday, but Sunday morning, it broke open and she started hemorrhaging from it. We took her to the animal hospital (while she shook in fear the whole way) and they did emergency surgery on her to remove the tumor. They also found out she had 2 ear infections :( Pooor baby!!!!

Since she's one of the most important parts of where I live, I thought I'd post her picture today and maybe my "where I live" friends could send a little prayer her way.

The vet did say she came thru the surgery just fine and she would be okay. But she sure is miserable right now :(

How is Lacey now, as I do often think of her. I miss you my friend, and hope to see you around DOC again soon.....

OMG ... OMG ... this is just the best shot ... and i absolutely love the look ... partly bored, partly sleepy and definitely gorgeous ...i've got 10 mins on my brother's computer ... my internet is stuffed ... just wanted to make comments on your work, coz i love it!! ... i was able to use internet at boyfriends yesterday, but didnt have long enough to look at my favs ... of which you are one ... :)

Awww - poor baby!! Cockers tend to get ear infections so easily and it can cost them their eyesight. I've known several blind Cockers who can't see because of ear infections. I'm glad she's ok and is recovering. I will send good thoughs.

Oh, poor baby. I'm glad to hear she's okay. Your comment about her shaking in fear reminded me of when my daughter wrecked her bike about 6 weeks ago - she also was shaking. I'm sending both of you good thoughts. :)

That said, naturally this is another beautiful animal portrait by you!

Awww...poor Lacey! She looks like such a sweet girl. I love cocker spaniels, they are such great companion dogs. Sending my best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.

Yanno what sistah... Your pictures continually compel me to stop at the thumbs and open them to full size... and its never a disappointing experience.

You have such talent for making the critters you shoot so adorable.. I really love how soft/gentle you make them with your editing.

lovely photo Sandy. you can see in her eyes she wants to be playfull but just doesnt feel like it. But i know her mommy (Sandyp) is takeing wonderfull care of her.
