Took this for a lack of any better inspiration. I will probably get hammered, but I quite like this. I think it flows quite nicely too. And it might as well be sacred ground for how much a round costs there!

Nice panorama and I like the border to artificially hem this photo in. I think you could have cropped it a little more on the top and both sides to focus more on this fairway with the 3 or 4 trees at the cartpath by the water bounding the top edge and gotten just as good a shot with less distractions on the edges. The smoothness of the grounds at the bottom of the photo contrast sharply with the bare trees at the bottom and that's good but they also compete with the branchy activity of the trees at the top of the photo and, to me, that's not so good. Both sandtrap and water have a few hotspots but remarkably less than I would expect given the harshness of the lighting you were working with (see the shadows of the tree in the middle-right of the photo for a realistic expression of the time of day). Oddly, because of the mound between green and tee box at the bottom of the photo, the smaller trees' shadows appear to be shot much later in the day. This might make for a surprising shot someday. You could utilize midday lighting (who would do that) but give the aspect of being later in the day. Just a thought.

The strong points of this image are the leading lines of the path and the creeks at the left and right side. Nice color and tone balance. Like it.

This is certainly a sacred place to my husband, LOL! A lovely shot overall, the way the green curves around the shot and the water framing it works very well. The colors could pop just a tad more and the cropping could be a little tighter on the bottom to me. An 8

Haven't a clue what to score this ... as an advertising/stock photograph of a golf course it's faultless, I think; however I'm looking for something that says a little more about the sacredness of the subject than this purely technically expert representation. Perhaps there is that feeling of nature tamed, that cleaning-up of a natural world and in some sense fooling people with that here. Though I'm not certain it's deliberate, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - 8, for now.

nice detail, crisp and clean, nice light and the inner life can flourish anywhere if it is allowed

unless there's more here than meets the eye- perhaps this place has a unique history of its own- but otherwise it looks like a golf-course.. i don't see anything sacred about the place. but then, golf has never been my favorite sport either.. :-P

Great shot. I think this would also be a neat shot to show the four seasons in -- shot in fall, spring and summer, to show the differences. Very well done.

Very nicely done. Great light, good framing, good colour. A great stage. Where are the actors ? It really needs some people to provide some interest and focus

ahhh the Abbey :) I miss golf already. Stupid Calgary snow oh...the picture..right. your greens seem a little yellow (which may well be the time of year) I'd maybe hue shift a little to green it up (so much cheaper than fertilizer). I like the simple border. might have cropped a little off the bottom to get rid of that tree or whatever it is in the bottom right corner.

I was wondering if anyone would do this. I was going to do a shot of a green myself but decided not to in the end. Seeing how few there were I'm sorry I didn't. Very nice shot well framed. Good Job!

nice curvy composition eye goes from the front curves around to the back left - I like how the solid objects are blanced by their distinct shadows. I like the light in the distant trees picking them out against the dark background. Almost makes me want to play golf.

I had the same idea but don't live near such a beautiful course. This is well done and looks inviting. I like the composition and the color. Well done.

Good Points:agree with the sacred place! Course is in great condition and looks quite a challenge.
Bad Points:would have cropped a bit off the bottom and taken at a time when lighting was more dramatic
Final Score::6
