IMHO this shot is simply too dark. I would love to see more of the detail of what appears to be a very impressive building!

Very good use of negative space. I like the coloration you selected, too. The vertical lines appear to be pretty plumb but the effect from this angle is that the bottom horizontal is off (I assume there is a foundation for this building and my mind keeps telling me that if the shadows all begin at about 2-3' off the ground, then the angle at which I'm viewing the bottom of the building means it must be tilted up towards the right rather than running straight across the bottom of the photo). Now I understand that is an optical illusion caused by viewing the building from this perspective but it almost gives me a feeling of vertigo. The dilemna: whether to score lower for an effect that the photographer couldn't help or to count higher for the visceral feeling imparted by my mind telling me something that it cannot know but that my experience tells me must be there. Hmmmm. You proved your technical skills (though the lower portion of the photo has a couple of hot spots at both the left and right bottom corners). I think this photo gets high marks. Good selection of subject and good perspective.

I just love fine architecture! Beautiful lighting, I love how this shot highlights the building without all the overwhelming details.

Impressive, I love how it looms out of no where. The style is so Gothic and reminds me of King Arthur, though that's probably because I've been looking at pictures of the Abbey at Glastonbury...Beautiful.

A dramatic shot no doubt, the contrast between the dark and lit areas is just a tad wanting. I like the crop of the shot, the tall tower on the left and the shorter side of the building on the right. The overall sharpening is a bit wanting to me and I started this at a 5 but am raising it to a 7

this is pretty cool - almost an abstraction of what a church or cathedral is - raising it up to being a more generic 'sacred place' rather than this specific place. The light has broken it down into some of the component pieces and you've exposed it to hide everything else. The toning works well too. (10)

I love the tones in this and the shadows really add some nice drama. It's clean, sharp, almost abstract in a way.

Good shot. I like the light. Too bad the top of the spire was out of the light a little.7

Intersting effect with that uplighting - really like the progression of the shadows on the walls.

just beautiful. I feel more righteous just looking at this photo- and the burned out doorway is forgiven.

nice negative space. the darkness has a shape of its own. some of the lights (on the right, and above the door) are a bit bright.

Contrast and the lighting is captured perfectly. I like how the the shadows help to define the beautiful shapes on the churchs' buttresses. The light helps to give it a holy feeling.
