.... i cant really remember why i posted this in the Still Life challenge.. i think my friend told me to do it and i just did, not thinking anything about whether it was STILL life... :) i do still like this shot though, but unfortunately i dont have a clue how i did it :P

First of all the part of her head being cut off is very distracting, although this is a cool action shot this is the complete opposite of what the challenge called for, also the time date stamp should be turned off before the picture is taken.

I dont see anything still life about this one...

Happy Hallowe'en! This is DEFINITELY life, but not too still. Fun shot though.

This isnt the usual definition of still life, nor does it really say 'still' at all, it has obvious movement. Having the date stamped on the picture also makes it look a lot like a snapshot.

i'm sure you've already heard this but lose the date

Sorry about yesterdays comment, it was a bad day and I took it out on alot of people. This however is still not a still life. Very cute girl (one in yellow) and would love to see more of her, but either in forums or on topic please.

Woah, this almost caught me out! Great picture, very inventive, but how on earth is this a still life? 1

Cool shot. I don't see 'still life' here though...

snap shot city..Still life?

What is supposed to be still about this image. I know that some have pushed the boundries by shooting someone just sitting still, but this shot is all about action. What were yout thoughts when you created the image? It would help me better understand where you are coming from.

First off - this is an action shot, not still life
second, the dirt on the picture doesn't look very well at all, neither does the date written down in the corner =/ WHICH gives away the fact that your picture wasn't taken between the submission dates 11/5/2003 - 11/11/2003 , which I think means your photo should be disqualified

nothing still or inanimate about this one....unless, of course, the subject is the date stamp.

Still life?
11/05/2003 10:05:05 PM
This just doesn't say still Life to me in any way shape or form. It's a very interesting shot, and I can usually find some way that an image fits the challenge, but I have to admit that I am stumped here.
11/05/2003 08:07:26 PM
Darn that is wild! How did you do that?????? I really like how it jumps out at you it also reminds me of how a camera takes pictures using film and it is exposed? Is that possibly a answer, there is a feature on your camera to overlap? Anyways really like......

Not still life.

don't get the still life in it.. It's a cool picture, thou... for other challenge.

Not sure what this had to do with Still life as it's live people and they are moving! The shot is not very appealing overall, the cropping or lack, her head getting cut off doesn't work for me and the blurring lights on the bottom are very distracting. A 1

Congratulations--you've just photographed the exact OPPOSITE of a "still life". The ghosting and light trails convey motion very well. It's a neat photo (minus the date imprint), but it does not fit the challenge.
11/05/2003 10:23:24 AM
i really like this picture, i wish it met the challenge, so i could score it higher.
11/05/2003 03:58:36 AM
I am sorry, but can't see anyway at all that this can possibly be "still life", it is full of movement. The date is also very distracting.

Tricky, but not still life - 3
11/05/2003 12:59:50 AM
Shoes with lights on them?
11/05/2003 12:23:00 AM
i like the effect that the date stamp gives this photo.
