Wow! Sexy! Excellent use of light. Composition and focus are good, too. Nice approach to the challege. If I would be a pencil producer I would use your photo for my advertising ;-)

The lighting for this is a bit dark for me, however it fits the "theme" of this photo. There is definately a pencil in the photo. Focus is good and the angle is ok. I might have backed it up a bit to include the rest of the hair, other than that, pretty good photo. Good luck with the challenge.

Nicole, age 6, chose this as her favorite photo this week. She says "It's my favorite because the penil is in her mouth."

Interesting all the way around. Nice lighting and composition, and the "idea" is very unique - and portrayed very well. The more I look at it, the more I like it. lhall

Great light.

Nice shot and like how she bleeds into black but the pencil doesn't. Very expressive considering it's a posed shot, I am guessing you have a great report with your model. I get a message from her, which is silly considering she has a pencil in her mouth, but I do... I'm tough but fun kind of message. Anyway, like the composition, colours and lighting.

Great lighting and I like the angle ... controled disorder.

Suggestive, almost, except for the pencil. Hahah. :-) I like the use of the lighting here and how the shadows are on the left side of the face. Good work. karmat

very nice :) the shadows work well here and the lighting on the pencil is perfect :) - jmsetzler

Um... it's a nice photo, but that poor girl has really bad makeup. I don't know, these kinds of soft porn-esque photos don't really grab me (being a girl). Although, even if I was a lesbian I doubt I'd find her attractive. Just something about that look makes me shudder. It's so objectifying. Not that I'll give it a really low rating for that.

Good use of pencil -- on eyebrows and around eyes...

Nice use of lighting, very different idea. :)

Like it. A bit too much shadow on the right side of her face though.

So, any calls from pencil companies wanting to buy your "ad"? Great shot.

It's interesting and well composed. Personally, I think portraits should be really sharp rather than slightly soft focus. Other than that, it's a terrific picture… (7)

I like the lighting and the expression.

could do with some fill light on the left side of her face - very harsh shadows...

I like the lighting

Sassy.

it seems to be missing something but i can figure it out nice shot on the shadows

The model's expression seems rather tentative, sorta: "is this what you (the photographer) want me to do and look?". The lighting isn't pleasing to me. Too much darks in the right side of the face and no subtle gradation from subject to background. 6 Journey

I would like to meet her. Great shot

I like about this photo that the pencil has a place in it with a sense of belonging. It wasn't forced to make the challenge work. That would be more true if the pencil were sharpened. It's too bad her eye goes just out of focus a bit. But not toomuch to cause problems. Clearly you wanted focus on her mouth. You might tell your model, by the way, that she has great teeth. 7 - may or may not become an 8 as the week passes.

I wish I was that pencil (9)
